Prohibited items
SeeInsideBox documents parcels; we do not import, sell, or authenticate them. To keep the service lawful and insurable, we refuse the categories below. This list is not exhaustive — if you are unsure, ask before shipping.
1. Counterfeit and infringing goods
Counterfeit goods, “replicas”, “knock-offs”, unauthorised copies, and any item that infringes a trademark, copyright, design right, or patent. We do not accept parcels whose purpose is to pass off an unauthorised copy as genuine, and we do not produce content that helps do so.
2. Weapons and dangerous goods
- Firearms, ammunition, parts, and replica firearms.
- Bladed weapons, batons, knuckle dusters, and other offensive weapons.
- Explosives, fireworks, flammable liquids, compressed gases, and lithium batteries shipped outside the applicable rules.
- Radioactive, biological, or chemical materials.
3. Controlled and illegal substances
- Narcotics, psychotropic substances, and precursor chemicals.
- Steroids and prescription medicines without a valid prescription.
- Alcohol and tobacco where restricted by the destination or carrier.
4. Food, plants, animals and health products
- Fresh food, meat, dairy, and perishables.
- Seeds, live plants, soil, and plant products subject to quarantine.
- Live animals, animal parts, ivory, and protected wildlife products.
- Medical devices, supplements, and cosmetics that require registration or a licence.
5. Financial, personal and illegal items
- Cash, currency, negotiable instruments, and cryptocurrency hardware holding keys.
- Stolen goods, or goods obtained through fraud.
- Identity documents, personal data, and SIM cards in bulk.
- Pornography, material harmful to minors, and hateful or terrorist content.
- Items whose mere possession or recording is illegal in China or the destination.
6. High-risk items we may decline
We may decline or apply extra conditions to: items above a declared value we can insure; fragile items; liquids; items with strong odours; items requiring temperature control; and items whose origin or ownership we cannot verify.
7. What happens if a prohibited item arrives
- We may open and inspect the parcel for compliance.
- We may refuse it, return it to the sender, or hold it pending instructions.
- We may report it to the relevant authority where required by law.
- Fees already incurred (inbound handling, storage, return shipping) are not refunded.
- We may terminate the account and refuse future bookings.
8. Your declaration
By booking, you declare that the item is lawful, that you have the right to have it filmed and stored, and that it does not fall into any category above. You agree to indemnify SeeInsideBox for losses arising from a false declaration.
9. Ask first
If your item is unusual — a custom mechanical part, a sample, a large piece of furniture, a high-value collectible — send us the details before shipping. A two-minute check avoids a refused parcel. Contact: [email protected].
